After recently meeting Baja Blues Fest organizers Jackie & Marty Alameda, San Diego vocalist/songwriter Michele Lundeen affirmed her enthusiasm about performing at the 8-hour music festival to be held on August 25, 2012 at the Rosarito Beach Hotel. Known as “The Queen of Steam,” Michele is internationally acclaimed for her own special blend of high energy blues, funk, soul and R&B, and her electrifying onstage presence.
“My band and I have played successful concerts in Ensenada and San Felipe, and we have been thrilled by the warm reception from audiences and the friendliness of the Baja people,” the vivacious entertainer declared. “I have read and heard many positive things about Playas de Rosarito. The Baja Blues Fest will mark my first visit to Rosarito and I look forward to an exciting encounter with its legendary hospitality and remarkable attractions.”

The Ensenada group, Coyote Mike & the Wetbacks, is equally enthusiastic about the upcoming Rosarito event. Comprised of musicians from the U.S., Mexico and Canada who offer an international potpourri of sounds ranging from blues and rock to funk, jazz and reggae, the Wetbacks perform covers as well as original music. Like Michele, the Wetbacks have played concerts in Ensenada and San Felipe, but the Baja Blues Fest will be their first musical appearance in Rosarito.
According to lead singer Coyote Mike, “The Wetbacks would like to express how happy we are to be participating in and performing at the first annual Baja Blues Fest in the great town of Rosarito Beach, Baja California. We feel that it is a wonderful opportunity not only for the groups that are going to play but also for the southern California and Baja California communities to celebrate the interconnectedness of the entire region. We hope that everyone attending the show will enjoy it as much as we will. Music and peace!”
