One of the city’s largest and most popular events, Mardi

The legendary desert race in which more than 250 cars, trucks,
motorcycles and ATVs from 25 U.S. states and 10 countries traverse
nearly 455 miles of rugged
mountain, forest and desert terrain in their attempts to “beat the
Baja.” This
year’s race starts and finishes in front of Ensenada’s historic Riviera
Cultural Center on Blvd. Costero (Lázaro Cárdenas),
leaving and returning
through the arroyo wash. On Friday, June 3, the pre-race SCORE
Manufacturer’s
Midway and tech inspection takes place on the boulevard from 10am-6pm.
On
Saturday, June 4, motorcycles and ATVs start the race at 6am, followed
by
trucks and cars at approximately 10am. On Sunday, June 6, award
presentations

Chronicled in the 2005 full length feature documentary “Dust
to Glory,”
the Baja 1000 is the legendary desert race in which more
than 300 cars, trucks, motorcycles and ATVs challenge 692.82 miles of
rugged mountain, forest and desert
terrain in their attempts to “beat the Baja.” This year’s race starts
and
finishes in Ensenada. On Thursday, November 17, the pre-race
contingency, tech
inspection and SCORE Manufacturer’s Midway take place from 10am-5pm in
front of
Ensenada’s historic Riviera Cultural Center on Blvd. Costero
(Lázaro Cárdenas).
On Friday, motorcycles and ATVs start the race in front of the Riviera
at
6:30am, followed by trucks and cars at 11:45am (or four hours after the

ATV leaves the line). With the course open for 32 hours in the

race, the fastest racers are expected to cross the finish line in front
