February 12-17: Carnaval Ensenada 2015 “Historias y Estrellas de Hollywood (Stories and Stars of Hollywood)”
One of Ensenada’s largest and most popular events, Mardi Gras attracts a multitude of national and international visitors. Día de Muertos is one of Mexico's most traditional religious holidays as deceased loved ones are remembered with special altars, marigold flowers (flores de cempasúchil), candles and their favorite foods. A sweet bread, pan de muertos, can be found at bakeries, and candy skulls, coffins and skeletons are featured at dulcerías. Celebrations and candlelight processions are held in local cemeteries.
